business-19156_640Lately, I’ve been feeling a little stressed-out…

You know, overworked, under-paid, and constantly run-down. Over the last 6 months or so I’ve been picking up every cold going, every virus, and every flu bug, and I wondered if the two were connected.

So I went online to check it out…

And what did I find?

Well, not only did I discover that stress and illness WERE connected, I had no idea just how closely connected they were, and just how damaging stress actually is to our health. A little further digging and I discovered that stress is arguably one of the biggest health concerns of the modern world, indirectly and directly resulting in a whole host of conditions, from everyday ailments such as colds, viruses, headaches and fatigue, to more serious conditions such as insomnia, anxiety attacks and depression, through to life-threatening illnesses such as cancer and heart disease.

The medical profession now acknowledge just how serious stress is, and just how damaging it is to our bodies. It’s actually known as “the silent killer” because while it might not be given as the official cause of death, it’s often the main reason for the actual illness or disease taking hold in the first place. Coping With Stress in The Workplace

stopwatch-60204_640Stress at most jobs is unavoidable.  It could be caused by a boss who is very demanding, or a coworker who doesn’t pull his or her weight.  Or maybe you have a typically stressful position, such as medicine or law.  While some stress on the job can drive you to succeed and be healthy, too much can be very bad.  It can cause many health problems and be detrimental.
